-
Pick something you have entirely too much to say about
This is not a work presentation.
The more niche, unnecessary, or passionately opinionated, the better.
-
You're the expert because you said so
No credentials required.
Research is optional. Confidence is mandatory. Wildly specific evidence is encouraged.
-
Make a short slideshow
Aim for about 5–10 minutes.
Use PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva — whatever lets you adequately communicate your brilliance.
-
Visual aids are highly encouraged
Photos. Charts. Rankings. Screenshots. Memes. Evidence exhibits.
A graph you absolutely did not need to make is particularly welcome.
-
Teach us something
By the end, we should know something we didn't know before.
Whether that information is remotely useful is irrelevant.
-
Questions & arguments may occur
Your audience is allowed to ask questions.
They are also allowed to challenge your thesis. Defend it accordingly.
-
Commit to the bit
You are giving a TED Talk on the most important subject in the world.
For the next ten minutes, everyone else simply has to accept that.
